Utilizing polyethylene micropore disk media with ultra high protected surface area. Highly effective and stable, compact,very low head, very economical media. Integrates CO2 stripping.
MOVING BED BIOFILTER
Utilizing a variety of plastic media with specific surface areas ranging from 500 to 5000 m2/m3 and agitated using air. Highly effective, can be operated over a wide range of hydraulic loadings and stable.
Sand media fluidized by water flow. Highly effective, low cost media, higher pumping head required and less tolerant of flow variation.
TRICKLE FILTER BIOFILTER
Passive filters with and without countercurrent air flow. Simple and effective, often combined with effective CO2 stripping this kind of filter requires relatively large footprint.
Multi-cell biofilters have automatic carbon source dosing. Bacteria are first starved of oxygen, then with the addition of supplemental carbon source remove the O from NO3. Carbon addition is controlled using an ORP sensor feedback loop.
